Postal Service disruption

We're here to help

Canada Post Strike | What it means for you

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has announced they are on strike. This strike will result in delays in receiving postal mail, including paper statements and other communications from SCU and our partners.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates on this page as we know more. With this mail service disruption, we want to ensure that you are well-informed on your options for:

  • Viewing SCU statements
  • Replacement SCU debit card
  • SCU Collabria® Credit Cards
  • GIC and mortgage renewals
  • Subscribe to eNews

Please remember you are still expected to make your payments on time, even if you don't receive a statement or bill in the mail. It is important that you review your payment options for all your account vendors, as you are responsible for paying any additional fees or interest on your accounts if you miss a payment.

We encourage you to use our online solutions for your banking needs. Below we’ve provided instructions and links to information to help you take your next steps.

SCU Statements

You can view e-statements any time through digital banking

  • If you already have digital banking and need help getting started, please see our tutorials on how to set your statement preferences and view statements in digital banking.
  • If you do not have access to digital banking, please contact us and we can help you get set up.

SCU debit card

If you need a new or replacement debit card, please visit any branch and a Member Services Representative can assist you.

SCU Collabria® Credit Cards

During a postal disruption, you are still responsible to continue making your minimum monthly payment by the payment due date to ensure your account remains in good standing.

We recommend that personal members use CardWise (online or mobile app) and that business members use MyCardInfo to view your account and payment details, and to sign up for e-statements. If you do not have access to CardWise or MyCardInfo:

GIC and Mortgage renewals

You will not receive your GIC or mortgage renewal documents throughout the strike. However, your renewal dates are listed under the account details in your digital banking. We encourage you to book an appointment online or give us a call to explore your next steps.
