Postal Service update

We're here to help

Canada Post Update | What it means for you

With the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) returning to work on Tuesday, December 17, we are still anticipating mail delays for the remainder of the year and into January 2025.

Here's what this means for you:

  • SCU statements: We will resume mailing monthly statements from the time of the strike onward. You can expect to begin receiving these once the Canada Post backlog is cleared.
  • GIC and mortgage renewals: We will resume mailing GIC and mortgage renewal letters once we have a better understanding of how long it will take Canada Post to clear their backlog. We encourage you to review your renewal dates on your statements or in digital banking under account details.
  • Replacement SCU debit card: For the time being, we encourage you to visit your nearest branch to replace your debit card as we anticipate postal delays into the new year.

Please remember you are still expected to make your payments on time, even if you don't receive a statement or bill in the mail. It is important that you review your payment options for all your account vendors, as you are responsible for paying any additional fees or interest on your accounts if you miss a payment.

We encourage you to use our online solutions for your banking needs. Below we’ve provided instructions and links to information to help you take your next steps.

SCU Statements

You can view e-statements any time through digital banking

  • If you already have digital banking and need help getting started, please see our tutorials on how to set your statement preferences and view statements in digital banking.
  • If you do not have access to digital banking, please contact us and we can help you get set up.

SCU debit card

If you need a new or replacement debit card, please visit any branch and a Member Services Representative can assist you.

SCU Collabria® Credit Cards

You are still responsible to continue making your minimum monthly payment by the payment due date to ensure your account remains in good standing.

We recommend that personal members use CardWise (online or mobile app) and that business members use MyCardInfo to view your account and payment details, and to sign up for e-statements. If you do not have access to CardWise or MyCardInfo:

GIC and Mortgage renewals

We will not be mailing GIC or mortgage renewal documents that were scheduled to be sent during the strike. However, your renewal dates are listed under the account details in your digital banking. We encourage you to book an appointment online or give us a call to explore your next steps.
