James Gosselin
Interim CEO and Chief Corporate Sales Officer (CCSO)James began his credit union career in 1984, joining SCU in 1995 as Senior Agriculture / Commercial Lending Account Manager. Throughout his tenure, he has held several Senior Management positions, including Vice President of Corporate Lending (2008), Executive Vice President of Corporate Sales (2017), and most recently, as Chief Corporate Sales Officer (2019). Mr. Gosselin will continue to lead the Corporate Sales function during his 12-month Interim CEO role.
Amanda Peters, BAppBA, CPA, CGA
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)Amanda joined SCU in 2016, first serving on the SCU Board of Directors before transitioning to the CFO role. Her previous leadership experience includes serving as the Senior Director of Finance at HyLife Ltd., an international pork company with its head office in La Broquerie, Manitoba. As CFO, Amanda reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for delivering business results and managing organizational risk through the development and deployment of strategy in the areas of budget and accounting, financial management, treasury and investments, and knowledge management. Amanda holds both CPA and CGA designations, along with her Bachelor of Applied Business Administration (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology).
Tim Friesen, BA Hons.
Chief Risk Officer (CRO)Tim began his career with SCU in 1987 in the lending department. During his career Tim has held numerous positions within SCU and was promoted to Vice President, Risk Management in 2008 and, later, Executive Vice President (EVP), Risk Management in 2014. Since 2019, Tim has been the Chief Risk Officer and reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for delivering business results and managing organizational risk through the development and deployment of strategy in the areas of risk mitigation and legislative compliance. Tim graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts, Economics degree (hons.) from the University of Manitoba.
Stacey McLeish
Chief People & Brand Officer (CPBO)Stacey joined Steinbach Credit Union in 2021, bringing with her nearly fifteen years of human resources leadership experience. In her most recent role as the Vice President of Human Resources for StandardAero, Stacey led HR functions for all Canadian and international operations for the company’s largest division, which included 1,800 employees across eight major sites and service centres spanning five countries. As SCU’s CPBO, Stacey is responsible for delivering business results and managing organizational risk through the development and deployment of strategy in the areas of recruitment, HR policy, employee legislation, payroll, employee relations, compensation, benefits, organizational design and employee development. Stacey graduated from the University of Manitoba with her Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree specializing in HR Management and International Business. In addition, she has completed the Executive Human Resources Program at Queen’s University.
Jason Moran
Chief Retail Sales Officer (CRSO)Jason joined SCU in 2024 and comes to his role as Chief Retail Sales Officer (CRSO) with two decades of experience in finance and business operations, including the past four years with Healthcare and Municipal Employees' Credit Union, most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer. In addition, Jason held the position of Director, Member Service for Your Neighbourhood Credit Union, and Branch Manager at Assiniboine Credit Union. As CRSO, Jason reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for delivering business results and exceptional member experience in all areas of frontline service delivery channels. This includes the development and deployment of strategy for retail branch services, Member Contact Centre, and Wealth Management.
Matt Kehler
Chief Information & Technology Officer (CITO)Matt joins SCU from the technology space where he has spent his career leading and building teams, systems architecture, and strategic planning in both public and private sectors, including serving on the SCU Board of Directors. As technology leader, Matt's role is to ensure SCU stays at the forefront of digital offerings and cybersecurity.
As the CITO, Matt defines and deploys strategy in the areas of data storage and security infrastructure, technology roadmaps, IT policy & support services, as well as Knowledge Management and Project Management Office (PMO).
