3 reasons to go paperless

As more of us are looking for ways to save time and simplify our lives, choosing to receive eStatements instead of paper statements can bring you peace of mind. Here are three reasons to go paperless.

  1. It’s quick, easy, and won’t create clutter: No more waiting for the mail to arrive. Accessing your monthly eStatement is as easy as logging in to digital banking, and you can view up to seven years’ worth of statements, all within a few clicks. Plus, as a bonus, accessing your statements online allows you to reduce the amount of paperwork to file or documents to shred.
  2. It’s free: Effective Spring 2024, fees will be charged for each paper statement printed ($2 for consumer accounts and $3 for business accounts). However, eStatements are always free, so you can access your statements any time you need them without paying a statement fee. 
  3. Protect your identity: Keeping your identity safe is a top priority. Paper statements have a higher risk of being misplace dor intercepted by someone looking to steal your identity information. Overall, choosing eStatements is a more secure way to keep track of your banking transactions.

Not ready to go paperless? Consider using less paper!

While eStatements are a secure and easy solution to keeping track of your banking transactions, we understand there are times when paper statements are still necessary. If you receive multiple statements each month, minimize your fees by combining statements. Here’s how.

Combine your statements

If you hold both single and joint accounts, you may be receiving multiple account statements each month. To save on fees, combine your paper statements by filling out our SCU Statement Combining Form and send it to us one of four ways:

  1. Drop it off at your nearest SCU branch
  2. Fax it to 204.326.3102
  3. Scan and email it to
  4. Mail it to:

We’ll start making the changes as soon as we receive your request. It may take more than one statement cycle for changes to take effect.
